In these images, landscapes, people, and objects appear only partially, obscured by a grid pattern. This grid is intended to visualize the essential qualities of memory itself \u2014 forgetting, absence, distortion, and revision.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>Charan Ranganath, professor of psychology and neuroscience at the University of California, describes memory as a process of recreation in which fact and interpretation are inseparably intertwined, drawing a parallel with artistic creation. His perspective highlights the dynamic and flexible nature of memory, suggesting that memory is not mere reproduction but a living entity shaped by present experience, context, and emotion.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>The <em>Memories<\/em> series is not an attempt to reproduce memory, but rather a visual experiment to reveal the process by which memory is layered, erased, and rewritten. The images may be read as fragments of my own episodic memory, but at the same time, as familiar scenes that resonate as semantic memory.
