Maybe it was because I chose a heavy topic such as death or perhaps it was because I lacked experiences and philosophy, but in many cases, I could not find the reason why I should make the work. I chose photography because photography tells the same story in terms of media and in terms of methodology. In particular, a Polaroid photograph is a one time thing and it has a strong flash, and I thought that the sudden flash of light would be proper to express death or absence in a metaphorical sense.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Installation of 108 filed Polaroid photographs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>Christian Boltanski has said that he was fascinated by the way photography makes us feel as if we are looking at the truth itself, as though encountering tangible evidence of reality, thereby creating an illusion of reality. He found in the properties of photography, its ability to fix moments in time, the meaning of death. He remarked:<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>\u201cThe reason I chose photography is because it has a deep relationship with death. To take a photograph is to possess the life of the subject at that moment. But three seconds after the photograph is taken, the reality is no longer the same as it was three seconds before. These fleeting moments are fossilized and killed by the photograph.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>For example, when we look at photographs of children\u2019s faces, those children are in fact already adults. The childhood that was fixed in the photograph no longer exists. In this sense, the images of bygone days are no different from the dead. Feeling the need to commemorate these images of death, almost like corpses, Boltanski created series such as <em>Monuments<\/em> and <em>Reserve<\/em>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div align=\"justify\"><p>In my own work, I photographed fallen leaves (feuilles mortes), giving careful attention to each leaf as if it were a body.
